At Fermoie, sustainability is an integral part of how we work, grounded in craft, responsibility and a belief that beauty should endure. It is considered at every stage, from design through to production. Becoming a Real Living Wage Employer in October 2024 reflects the importance we place on the people behind our work, and in October 2025 we achieved B Corp Certification, marking an important step in formalising this approach.
We believe sustainability is shaped through good design: creating fabrics and wallpapers of lasting beauty, made to be used, valued and lived with over time. By designing, printing and making everything in-house, we are able to minimise waste, reduce transport, and maintain close control over the materials and methods we use.
Our fabrics and wallpapers are printed using water-based pigments, with colour developed by hand and eye in the studio to achieve depth and clarity. Our wallpapers are printed on paper sourced from sustainably managed forests, while our indoor-outdoor fabrics are made from recycled plastic bottles and produced without PFCs, PFAS or other harmful ‘forever chemicals’. Offcuts are repurposed or recycled wherever possible, and our made-to-order approach ensures that production remains measured and intentional.
We continue to build on this foundation, setting a Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) target in November 2025 to guide long-term emissions reduction, and beginning partnerships with Horatio’s Garden and Furnishing Futures in February 2026, supporting communities and causes closely aligned with our values.
Together, these steps reflect an approach to sustainability that is ongoing, considered and rooted in long-term thinking.
